Qualifications
- A combined 7-10 years of experience in Lead Carpenter and/or Project Manager roles.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, including the scheduling of all trades, staff, and material deliveries.
- Proficiency in technology, with a willingness to learn; we utilize gantt chart scheduling, emails, spreadsheets, and Google Docs for team organization. A field tablet will be provided for your use.
- Capability to collaborate with the Office Manager for the upkeep of project files and daily logs in our project management software, BuilderTrend.
- Strong overall understanding of project dynamics, ensuring comprehensive knowledge of each project is communicated to employees and trade partners.
- Excellent communication skills, extending beyond basic face-to-face interactions, phone calls, and emails to include clear content, timing expectations, and desired outcomes.
- Competency in managing the building permit process.
- Creative problem-solving skills to optimize time and cost efficiency without compromising on job quality.
- Proficiency in managing project quality control to minimize errors and omissions.
- Responsibility for conducting semi-annual employee reviews in collaboration with the Business Manager.
- Willingness to perform hands-on tasks such as installing surface protection, constructing dust walls, undertaking light demolition, minor rough carpentry, hardware installation, and daily clean-up. While primarily handled by in-house carpentry crews, the Project Manager should be ready to assist as needed, expecting to be hands-on approximately 10% of the time and focusing on process management for the remaining 90%.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Job Description
This role necessitates the ability to interpret and understand blueprints and, most importantly, to make on-site construction decisions in alignment with the design objectives while keeping the project on track. It is imperative that you maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and a positive attitude, coupled with exceptional leadership and communication skills. Your responsibilities will encompass both hands-on carpentry work and overseeing the development of other carpenters, all while ensuring an outstanding client experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Job-site Preparation & Clean-Up: Prepare and safeguard the job-site before and during the project.
- Demolition: Remove existing walls, cabinets, flooring, plumbing, and electrical components as required.
- Framing: Construct room addition floor systems, walls, roof systems, interior load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls.
- Finish Carpentry: Install doors, windows, cabinetry, crown molding, casing, and baseboards.
- Flooring: Work with various flooring types, including ceramic tile, hardwood, and LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile).
- Custom Tiled Showers: Experience in this area is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Electrical: Interior wiring skills are a plus but not a strict requirement.
- Upholding a High Standard of Customer Service:
Maintain excellent customer service and build strong customer relationships.
